i recall hearing this guy on the radio(?)sure there couldnt be too many lion whisperers out there. nice to finally see him in action. strange they only refer to him as a ranger, does he have a name? kind of remindes me of timothy treadwell with the grizzly bears, although the lions dont appear to be feasting on this guy…no offense tim.

I’m logged in? But I think I can only post to Environmental Ethics blog because my dashboard automatically brings me to there…no authors option.

so i thought id just post what i found so far here.

why is it we defend to the death such a system or entire culture of opression? recently i ve been thinking and playing around with notions of hostage situations. with a quick search i happened upon this short article(above link) in regards to dogs- or any animal in fact- and their relationships to crates. the author compares the relationship with the crate to stockholm syndrome. perhaps this article may shed some light on why some humans feel such a strong bond with civilization- a system in which life is expendable with regards to economic ‘progress’ and/or ‘development of natural resources’.
