Wow – I somehow managed to get a ’free’ hour this morning, so here I am!
It has been BUSY days and nights since I started here at ECUAD, and that’s without any extra-curricular activities! I haven’t been able to get to the Coffee Nights or additional lectures, as I’ve been doing a little extra studying on illustration and design techniques. These are areas I hadn’t studied or practiced previously, so I needed to get familiar with them.
So I’ve had a few really fun evenings and weekends going through online lessons in sketching, shading, perspective and other techniques that are new to me.
I can see improvement in my illustrations already, and it’s giving me entirely new ideas for paintings and other cool things I want to make.
I really have been learning something new every day…some days my head feels so heavy with new knowledge (which always nets me a good 8-10 hours sleep), and after a good sleep and more processing time, I start to see where this new knowledge can be used.
About the only major challenge I’m having is narrowing down my major! I still want to do everything, but I don’t need to major in everything…so today is my day to map out all possible options and be prepared to register for the new semester.
In the meantime, I’ll now use the rest of my ’free’ hour to study for my Visual Culture exam.
