The photography department may be accessed over the summer semester for official Emily Carr Alumni or those who possess prerequisites from foundation or continuing studies classes. Authorization is required by coordinator / photography resources or technician on duty. Upon approval, please pay Emily Carr Financial Services the non-refundable user fees as listed below. NOTE: Max wet lab print sizes in effect.
General Access is $25.00 per day
Studio 236 $25.00 per hour
Paid access is a privilege, and does not include an instructional component. Students will receive orientation to department operations only. Individuals must possess prior knowledge, have necessary pre-requisites, and be familiar with the techniques / processes being undertaken.
Paid access includes the following areas: Black and white film processing lab (curriculum permitting.) Film processing chemistry is available for paid access students. 221D houses film processing chemistry, print finishing equipment, xerox transfer and dry mounting presses. (Lab 2212d)
Labs 225, 219, 217, 215, 213 are available for B&W RC and fibre printing to max print size 11 x 14 only. Kreonite roller transport processing for all RC media to max print size of 20 x 24. Larger sizes @ an extra surcharge.
There are 10 colour printing labs available. The maximum print size with the Kreonite is 20 x 24.
Studio 236A + B is available for shooting and image capture at $25.00 per hour.
Computer Lab 221E has a Canon iPF 5000 Inkjet Printer. Log in is required for the pre pay print output. Maximum print size is 17 x 22.
Booking of workstations for paid access is permitter only after Tuesday of each week. This will allow continuing studies and credit course photography students to slot themselves in for their curriculum needs.
